Bruce and his wife Sandy live in Oakville with their children Jaedon (grade 11 at King’s), Larissa (grade 8 at John Knox) and Savannah (grade 5 at John Knox) and have been members of King’s since 2015. Bruce is Vice President and District Manager with PCL Constructors Canada Inc., responsible for district operations in the GTA and southwestern Ontario. The Sonnenberg family worships at the Church of God in Hamilton.
Christy and her husband live in Burlington with their four children: Lauren (Kings, Grade 9); Jacob who will attend Kings in September 2018; and Daniel and Clara who attend Christian elementary school. Christy’s background is in education, teaching for both the Toronto and Thames Valley District School Boards. She completed her M. Ed. in Educational Psychology and Special Education from the University of Western. More recently she held the role of VP and Learning Resource Teacher in the Christian elementary school system. She now enjoys supply teaching and literacy consulting. The Macks are members of Faith Christian Reformed Church where Christy serves as a GEMS Girls’ Club leader.
Jill Henderson McDermott
Jill and her husband Bryan live in Oakville with their children. Their son Alton (grade 11) and daughter Brynley (grade 9) attends King’s and son Logan (grade 7) attends Maplegrove Public School. Jill is an artist and interior designer in commercial & retail design. She received her BAA in Interior Design from Ryerson University. Jill has her own company in.originate. The McDermott family attends Trinity Anglican Church in Streetsville.
Jeff Bergsma lives with his family in Milton where he and his wife Sara own and operate Bergsma’s Paint and Decor. Jeff is also a partner with C2 Paint – The Coatings Alliance where he serves as Chair of the Board. Their daughter Victoria graduated from King’s in 2015, Emily in 2017, and Maddy is in Grade 11. Jeff is a committed supporter of Christian education and continues as a founding Board member of Milton Christian School. The family attends The Meeting House in Oakville.
Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer and his wife Mimi have been members of the King’s Community since September 2012. They have four sons, with Charles, King’s Class of 2016; Lucas in Grade 11 at King’s; and Eduard and Oliver attending other Christian schools. Jean-Louis and Mimi came to Canada in 1999 after having lived and worked in numerous European countries. Jean-Louis has extensive experience in retail and investments and has continues to serve on many boards including the Porticus Charitable Foundation. The family attends Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Oakville.
Glem Dias runs a leadership strategy practice that advises Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial companies. He consults in the areas of executive development and shaping the next generation of leaders. He also teaches executive education and is the Director of the Global Talent Centre at Schulich Executive Education Centre, York University. He and his wife Vinitha live in Mississauga with their children Jerica (Grade 10 at King’s) and Nathaniel (Grade 6 at John Knox). The Dias family worships at Catch the Fire, Toronto.
Reinhard Dotzlaw is the National Managing Partner, Audit Professional Practice for KPMG Canada. He is a voting member of the IFRS Interpretations Committee, which assists the International Accounting Standards Board in improving financial reporting. He and his wife Marlene have been members of King’s since 2013 and have two children, Andrew and Emily, who graduated from King’s in 2016. The Dotzlaw family worships at the Church of God in Hamilton.
Karen Glass and her husband John Ferguson live In Oakville with their children Dylan (graduated 2013), MacKenzie (graduated 2016), and Liam (Grade 12 at King’s). Karen is an Assistant Deputy Minister with Ontario Public Services where she focuses on developing and measuring public policy across government with particular expertise in social policy and innovative collaborative strategies. Karen and her family are active members of Knox Presbyterian Church, Oakville, where she is a trustee for their Memorial Trust and a teacher in the children’s ministry.
Danielle Kamerman and her family live in Oakville. Both Danielle and her husband David grew up attending Christian schools and continue to support Christian education. They have 3 boys – their son Jake is in Grade 11 at King’s and both Caleb and Jordan attend John Knox Christian School. While Danielle has taken a year off to manage the home front, she has enjoyed a 20-year career in Occupational Health Nursing. The family are members of Clearview Christian Reformed Church where Danielle has been a youth leader for the past 6 years.
