Board of Directors

Jeff Bergsma lives with his family in Milton where he and his wife Sara own and operate Bergsma Paint and Decor. Their daughter Victoria is a King’s graduate and Emily and Maddy are in grades 12 and 10 respectively at King’s. Jeff is a committed supporter of Christian education and has been an instrumental Board member in the early years of Milton Christian School. The family are members of Crosstowne CRC Church in Milton.
Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer and his wife Mimi have been members of the King’s Community since September 2012. They have four sons: Charles, who graduated from King’s in 2016 and is currently attending Redeemer University, Eduard and Oliver who attend other Christian schools, and Lucas, currently in grade 9 at King’s. Jean-Louis and Mimi came to Canada in 1999 having lived and worked in numerous European countries. Jean-Louis has extensive experience in retail, investments and has sat and continues to serve on many boards including the Porticus Charitable Foundation. The family attends Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Oakville.

Christine De Jong and her husband Louis have been members of the King’s community since it first opened its doors in 2001. All three of their children, Jordan, Kaitlin and Meghan, are graduates of King’s. Christine served on the King’s Education Committee for five years and also served a three year term on the board at John Knox Christian School in Oakville. Christine and Louis live in Toronto and worship at the Downtown Site of The Meeting House. Christine is the current Board Secretary.
Reinhard Dotzlaw is the National Managing Partner, Audit Professional Practice for KPMG Canada. He is a voting member of the IFRS Interpretations Committee which assists the International Accounting Standards Board in improving financial reporting. He and his wife Marlene have been members of King’s since 2013 and have two children, Andrew and Emily, who graduated from King’s in 2016. The Dotzlaw family worship at the Church of God in Hamilton where Reinhard is the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Karen Glass and her husband John Ferguson live In Oakville with their children Dylan (graduated in 2013), MacKenzie (graduated in 2016), and Liam (grade 11). Karen is an Assistant Deputy Minister with Ontario Public Services where she focuses on developing and measuring public policy across government with a particular expertise in social policy and innovative collaborative strategies. Karen and her family are active members of Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville, where she is a trustee for their Memorial Trust and a teacher in the children’s ministry.
John Lovelock has been a research Vice President at Gartner for the last 11 years and has over 30 years of expertise in Information Technology. His daughter Jessica graduated from King’s in 2009 and graduated from the University of Toronto in the engineering program in 2014. John and his wife Vesna live in Oakville and worship at St. Ignatius Loyola. John is the current Board Vice-Chair.
Ian Scarlett, B.Com., M.B.A., J.D. and his wife Mary-Cathryn live in Oakville with their three children. Kyle is a 2014 King’s graduate, Kyra a 2016 graduate and Kyna is in grade 10. Ian has degrees from McGill University and the University of Toronto. He works as a corporate/commercial lawyer and is the managing partner of a business law firm, Loopstra Nixon LLP. Ian has been active in the Oakville volunteer community for over a decade and a Board member since 2011. His family attends Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Oakville. Ian is the current Board Chairperson.
Lisa Skelding and her husband Neil live in Oakville with their three daughters, Sarah, Sydney and Samantha, who are all King’s graduates. Lisa is a private practitioner and owner of Oakville’s Thomas Street Relationship Restorations Counselling and teaches online courses through Dalhousie University. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for The Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology and for the Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. The Skelding family are members of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Oakville.

Stephen Stobie, CA, and his wife Hetti live in Burlington and attend Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waterdown. Their two sons, David and Andrew, are both King’s graduates. Stephen is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and is the Chief Financial Officer for Citigroup in Canada. Stephen and Hetti are active in their church and are pleased to serve the King’s community. Stephen is the current Board Treasurer.
