OFSAA 2012 Update: Thursday, June 7

The men’s soccer team got off to an excellent start at the provincial finals (OFSAA). In the first game they faced off against Noveau-Alliance from Barrie.  King’s dominated the game from the start, but could not find the back of the net until the second half. Kareem Nossier scored the game winner and Kyle Klassen added the final goal for a 2 – 0 victory.  Sebastian Sciarra recorded the shutout with the help of the backline. In the second game of the day King’s played Garnier Secondary from Pickering. Again, King’s controlled ball possession and shutdown offensive opportunities from Garnier. Michael Panza scored the first goal before Garnier equalized making it 1-1. However, King’s did not give up and shortly after, Anthony Sossa scored the game winner with a hard shot to the far post.  Both games were a great team effort. On Friday the team takes on London and Heritage in pool play before hopefully moving on to the playoff round. Follow along with the results here.
