King’s Golf–Finish in 2nd Place

The King’s Golf team finished the Halton Championship in second place on Tuesday, September 30th. This is the best finish in King’s Golf history. This means that the whole team will be heading to the Regional Championship next week. One of the team members, Kyle MacDonald finished first overall at the Halton Championship, another first in King’s history! Congratulations to the whole team (Kyle MacDonald, Chris Purkis, Robert Winch, Alex Matheson, and Braydon Evans) as they move on to the GHAC championship.

King’s Golf–Tied For 1st Place at Halton Championship

The King’s Golf Team played their first of 3 rounds for the Halton Championship. Kyle MacDonald, Alex Matheson, Robert Winch and Braydon Evans represented King’s well shooting a 135 (9 under par)  for the first round. That score ties them for first place with Notre Dame Burlington for the lead. The two schools have a 5 shot lead over the second place school Corpus Christi Burlington. They will be heading into the second round of the championship on September 26th at Wyldewood Golf Course. Well done!

Golf News

The King’s golf team continues their historic season with great showings in this years tournaments. Unfortunately our Golf Team didn’t make it to GHAC, placing 4th and only the top 3 going to GHAC. After 3 events our Golf team shot a 606, 3rd place was 605 and 2nd place was 604.

Kyle MacDonald is currently tied for 3rd place and Austin Jones is tied for 9th for the individual scores and will represent King’s at GHAC as individuals.

King’s Golf team 3rd place after 1 event

The King’s Christian Collegiate Golf team is off to it’s best start in King’s history. Newcomer Kyle MacDonald is already making his presence felt on the team posting two great rounds and helping the team move into 3rd place in this year’s Halton Secondary School Golf Championship. Second year standout Austin Jones has also played extremely putting up two great rounds. Seniors Vaughan Hachey and Dan Bingham who round out the historic foursome are playing excellent golf as well. An excited coach Shin is looking  forward to the second event in the Halton Secondary School Golf Championship which will take place on Wednesday Sept 26.
